Journals

I am one of the three Editors of the journal Functions of Language (Benjamins), which publishes articles and reviews books from the full spectrum of functionalist linguistics, seeking to bring out the fundamental unity behind the various schools of thought, while stimulating discussion among functionalists; the other editors are Anne-Marie Simon-Vandenbergen (University of Ghent) and Geoff Thompson (University of Liverpool). I am also consulting editor for Studies in Language, for which I regularly review manuscripts, for Erfurt Electronic Studies in English, for the Croatian-based linguistics journal Jezikoslovlje, for the Slovene journal of English studies ELOPE and for the Romanian journal British and American Studies; I have recently been invited to join the editorial board of Revista Canaria de Estudios Ingleses, a Spanish journal of English Studies.

I am also a member of the Editorial Board of the new book series Discussions in Functional Approaches to Language at Equinox Publishing.
