Conferences

I was the principal organizer of three related events that took place in late May and early June 2010 in the Centro Científico e Cultural de Macau in Lisbon, Portugal: (a) the First International Postgraduate Course on Functional Discourse Grammar, on 31 May and 1 June; (b) IC-FDG-2010, the First International Conference on Functional Discourse Grammar, from 2 to 4 June; (c) a Colloquium on Portuguese Grammar from a Functional Point of View, on 5 June.

Together with Hortensia Pârlog (University of Timisoara, Romania) I will be convening a seminar on 'Recent Changes in English, and their Implications for Teaching and Assessment' at ESSE-10, the Tenth International Conference of the European Society for the Study of English at the University of Turin (Italy), from 24 to 28 August 2010. I will also be the discussant for the seminar 'Construction Grammar(s) meets Cognitive Semantics: Theoretical, Lexicographic and Acquisitional Perspectives' at the same conference.
